45.00 USD Our self watering planter will help even the blackest of thumbs grow their indoor urban jungle at home. Handcrafted using century old metal spinning techniques, this modern planter comes with a separate base tray that separates excess water from your plant. When you water your plant, the excess water will trickle into the base cup. That way there is no chance you're plants roots will rot from overwatering (the number one reason houseplants die!) Once the soil is dry and the plant is ready for more water, the remaining water in the cup will go back into the...

Eklutna River Renaissance

Story by Eric Booton Photos by Ryan Peterson Since time immemorial, southcentral Alaska’s Eklutna River, a glacial stream in Northern Cook Inlet traditionally known as Idlughetnu, was replete with fish, much like the ones we anglers fantasize about to see us through the work week. After starting this project the last week of October, our guest bathroom is finally finished! If you missed my previous posts for this project, you can check out our renovation progress and finishing touches. When we first moved in, this windowless bathroom was dark (so much brown!), outdated, and didn’t function ideally. The shower was tiny and difficult for an adult to maneuver in, and the vanity left just enough space on either side for little things to fall down and get stuck. We didn’t really have many options for alternative layouts, but we decided to gut the space and...

This recipe has very few ingredients but makes a fantastic crust. There is no reason to use store bought dough when you can have this in a matter of minutes. I use Caputo Tipo 00 Flour. What is that, you may be asking yourself? Tipo 00 is the finest grind you can buy. 0 falls in the middle, and 1 is the roughest. This fine grind, produces a crust that is chewy but not rubbery, with just the right amount of fluff on the edges. Meant to cook in ovens at 500 F or higher. Rest assured though, this dough...
