17 Things I Want To Do In 2023 – Week 18 of 52

Go On A Solo Adventure. Done
A solo adventure to Fair Isle. I don’t think I could have picked a more unique, isolated and cozy spot to spend a few weeks. I’m already dreaming of going back.
Take An Adult Education Class Done
The Girl and I took a 3 day British Baking Classics course at King Arthur Flour in Norwich, Vermont and had a good time. My favorite thing we made was the sticky toffee pudding.
Revisit An Old Friend.
I’m working on it! I’m nearly there.

Make 12 Totally British Recipes In The AGA.
I took the week off from baking while the HH was away, but hope to tackle a new recipe this coming week.
Set Aside 200 Items For A Yard Sale DONE!
All my items have been dropped off to The Duck Lady’s place {she’s having a big yard sale} and now all that’s left to do is list all the crafty odds and ends on Etsy.
I bought these Shaker style bent wood boxes about 4 years ago and had planned on painting them and attaching small hooked rugs on them to sell… But the way I see it, if I haven’t got to it by now… I probably never will.

*Money earned selling random stuff so far $227.70
* At the end of the year I will deduct all the shipping/supply/selling fees from the grand total.
Go On a Staycation/Craftcation With The Girl
Québec City is still at the top of our list. Some place in Old Town with breakfast in bed.
Turn The Craft Room Into a Proper Studio Space
While the HH was away I tore a big hole in the carpet. I figured if I did that, there would be no going back and well… He’d have to pull it up for me.
I also totally cleaned out the craft room and moved everything I plan on keeping in there to one side of the room so it would be easier for him to rip up the carpet {wasn’t that helpful of me?}.
Once he gets the carpet {and padding and staples} up, {and he assembles the new craft tables} we’ll move everything back in place and then I’ll sit with it for a bit before I do anything else.
Yee-Haw! I love a good project! {The HH? Probably not so much.}
Changes I plan on making to the space:
- Rip out the old gross carpet and replace it with pine floors
- Fresh paint
- A proper light fixture
- New serger
-
New work table{I ordered 3!} - A sitting area with a spot to hook
Hook 100 Rugs {50 of 100 done so far}
I just finished rug #50 for the year. Not bad considering some of them this year have been a bit on the larger side.
Create 15 New Rug Hooking Patterns 11 of 15 completed so far}
I also added a new rug hooking pattern to my Etsy shop, it’s called Mable’s Kittens.
New patterns I’ve added to my Etsy shop in 2023:
- Fair Isle Sheep
- Olde Hares
- Antique Hearts and Flowers
- Fat Cat with Easter Eggs
- Fat Cat with Shamrocks
- Fat Cat with Hearts
- Horse and Hearts
- Valentine Kitties
- Little Chicken
- Hit and Miss Flower Basket
- Mable’s Kittens
Grow 1,000 Pounds of Vegetables In The Commune Sized Garden
My Rhode Island Greening apple trees arrived while the head landscaper {The HH!} was away. They were bare root trees so I had to plant them in the kitchen garden for the time being so they didn’t dry out.
Hopefully I can get him to dig some holes down by the religious sized family garden this week.
Empty The Canning Cupboard / Fill The Canning Cupboard
Working on it!
Make $500 Selling Plants, Flowers or Vegetables {I’ve made $22 so far.}

{3} 6- packs of pea starts @$2 each = $6.00
{4} Daffodil bouquets @$3 & $4 each = $14.00
{1} Chives @$ each = $2.00

Update Every Single Recipe On The Blog To A Printable Format
I didn’t update a single recipe this past week.
26 Official Date Days With My Handsome Husband {8 down, 18 to go}
No dates with the HH this past week as he was out of town… But I suspect with the warmer temps {it was 79 yesterday!} we’ll be doing something outside next. Maybe a Farmer’s Market?
- Date #1 Thomaston Cafe for lunch. It was lovely.
- Date #2 Rising Tide Co-Op
- Date #3 Oysterhead Pizza
- Date #4 Oysterhead Pizza
- Date #5 Schanz Family Maple
